Some students are prepared to find their future school on their own, whereas others are better-off, getting support right from the start. Certain elements of the recruiting process are the same for all recruits across sports, regardless of athletic level:
Build a profile, which allows you to get recruited. Your highlight reel, athletic stats, academic test scores, pictures.
Add some words on yourself.
A crucial step. Make sure you understand your real level and what schools you'd have a shot at playing. Wrong self-assessment - poor outcome.
A lengthy task. Speaking to a number of coaches & making sure you build a relationship with them. The goal is to get recruited by a school, which fits to you & your budget.
You've got to be certified to play. NCAA, NAIA, NJCAA – rules differ, but one thing is the same across divisions: get it right academically & athletically - don't lose seasons of competition.
Access to all schools offering your sport in college, applying your criteria:
Think Colorado, lacrosse, religious affiliation and big school.
How about NCAA D3, swimming, public school, small city?
Whatever your dream school, there's a place for you.
An investment in your college recruitment process pays off - it's your future.
